Sonny was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and lived on a ranch until he was seven. Sonny’s father was a cowboy singer in the 1930′s. Sonny owns this guitar, an 1899 Martin, someday it will be passed on to Sonny’s son Lonnie, who may prove to be the most talented musician of the three.

From the mid to late sixties through the seventies, Asbury Park became a haven for musicians. Being a low-rent beach resort town, there was a built-in audience for rock and roll and many clubs and coffeehouses sprang up. Young musicians had the opportunity to play constantly and develop as performers in Asbury Park and places like it across the country. Sonny continues to play what led him to become a musician in the first place, deep blues, roots rock, organ trio jazz-blues and 50′s rock instrumentals.

Hank Woji on bass, now a Texas singer-songwriter-guitarist and political activist, and our unforgettable friend Ray Kreissler on drums.

At Crossroads in Asbury Park, Crossroads is greatly missed. A big thanks to the Crossroads family for all the fun we had there.

We feel privileged to have played a show with rock great Link Wray on his final tour.

At Asbury Lanes with The Ventures!

We opened for Southern Culture on the Skids, a favorite of ours, at Asbury Lanes September 29th 2007. Thanks to Mike Black for the photos.

Sonny and Mary Huff, SCoTS’ talented bassist and vocalist.

Dan, Sonny, George, and SCoTS’ killer drummer Dave Hartman.

We were honored when the legendary drummer Bernard “Pretty” Purdie stopped by and sat in at The Pine Tavern in Old Bridge in February 2006. Our friend Janet Denson snapped this photo of Bernard and Vic.

E Street Band bassist, producer, first-call Nashville session musician Gary Tallent dropped into the Walt Street Pub during E Street Band rehearsals in 2008. Gary is a true gentleman in addition to being a gifted musician. George took this shot of Dan and Gary.
